Meaningful Work From Day One

The National Field Sales Manager role leads our Field Sales team to deliver on our Business Strategy by executing with excellence and growing the capability of our on trade sales team.

Working at a National level, the key responsibilities of this role include Leading and empowering the team, Commercial delivery, building strong customer relationships and delivering business value strategies.

Important to success in this role is exceptional people leadership skills and commercial strategy for the Field Sales function to deliver on the Brown-Forman business strategy.

  • Team Leadership & Empowerment: Lead, mentor, and empower a high-performing team of field sales specialists, fostering engagement and driving capability building.
  • Commercial Delivery: Drive commercial outcomes by implementing robust sales strategies and ensuring their excellent execution in the marketplace.
  • Customer Relationship Management: Build brilliant partnerships with customers by spending time in trade, gaining deep insights into their businesses, and influencing their decision-making processes.
  • Business Value Strategy: Develop and deliver business value strategies that align with Brown-Forman’s overall business objectives, focusing on sustainable portfolio expansion and long-term brand equity.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Exhibit excellent cross-functional stakeholder management and collaborate effectively with internal teams such as Marketing, Trade, Brand Ambassadors, and Sales Analytics.
  • Market Execution & Adaptation: Own the go-to-market execution strategy for the field sales function, continuously adapting it to meet the evolving dynamics of the marketplace and updated market segmentation.
  • Sales Cycle Management: Partner with the Sales Analyst to deliver the annual sales cycle, including defining KPI metrics & targets, optimizing territories, and planning quarterly activities and capability drives.
  • Brand Visibility & Turnover: Develop and implement commercial plans to significantly boost the visibility and turnover of our brands at strategic points of sales.
  • Brand Activation Support: Support the implementation of launches, exclusive events, and training initiatives that reinforce the super-premium positioning of our brands.
  • Market Intelligence: Monitor market trends, competitive activities, and local nuances to quickly adjust commercial strategies and provide valuable industry insights to the National Field Team and SLT.

What You Bring to the Table

  • Commercial Business Strategy: Proven experience in developing and implementing commercial business strategies.
  • Data Analysis & Insights: Excellent skills in data analysis and leveraging insights to build influential partnerships internally, with trade partners, and with customers.
  • Sales Experience: Demonstrable sales experience in the alcoholic beverages, luxury, or consumer goods sector, particularly within the HORECA (Hotel/Restaurant/Café) channel or premium accounts.
  • Communication & Negotiation: Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
  • Market Knowledge: Deep knowledge of the Madrid market and a robust network of contacts within the on-trade channel.
  • Autonomy & Results-Oriented: Ability to work autonomously and a strong results-oriented mindset.
  • Brand Passion: A genuine passion for spirits brands, coupled with a sensitivity for luxury and attention to detail.
  • Language Proficiency: High level of proficiency in both Spanish and English (oral and written).
  • Leadership: Proven leadership experience, with a track record of developing high-performing teams.
  • Industry Relationships (Ideal): Ideally, experience within the liquor industry with positive existing customer relationships.
  • Spanish and English Language proficiency.

What Makes You Unique

  • Super-Premium/Luxury Experience: Previous experience with super-premium spirits brands or other luxury products.
  • Relevant Training: Training in hospitality, oenology, marketing, or related disciplines.
  • Mixology & Bar Culture: Knowledge of mixology, current cocktail trends, and bar culture.
  • Brand Experience Creation: Ability to create memorable brand experiences, both at the point of sale and at events.
  • Creative & Innovative Mindset: A creative and innovative mindset to propose differential activations and engage customers uniquely.
