As part of CBA’s Business Banking division, Small Business Banking offers both in-branch and remote support to small businesses nationwide. We build strong relationships with our customers and communities through deep engagement, a compelling value proposition, and outstanding execution.

Do work that matters:

We’re seeking an experienced Business Banker with commercial lending expertise to join our high-performing team in the northern suburbs of Melbourne, with a primary location of the branch in Preston, Victoria.

In this role, you’ll deliver exceptional service to Small Business customers by understanding their unique needs and providing end-to-end support to fulfil those needs.

You’ll also drive business development in your local community and strengthen client relationships through premium service delivery.

More specifically, you will:

• Engaging in meaningful customer conversations to uncover goals and deliver timely, relevant financial solutions—including commercial lending and asset finance up to $1.25M, merchant services, and everyday banking.
• Proactively engage customers to support their business and personal goals
• Representing CBA as a brand ambassador in the local business community, including hosting educational events to promote financial wellbeing
• Attending stakeholder meetings to raise awareness of Small Business Banking services and foster referral partnerships.

We’re interested in hearing from people who have:

• Proven experience in commercial lending or other high volume, fast paced sales environments
• Strong financial analysis skills and commercial acumen
• Excellent customer engagement abilities, both in-person and remotely
• A track record of managing a pipeline of customer opportunities to ensure we meet customers’ expectations and delivering proactive service
• A genuine passion for supporting Small Business customers—or firsthand experience running one
• FSRA Tier 2 Accreditation and Credit Approval Authority (CAA) Level 2, or a willingness to obtain these within 6 months
