Position Summary:
We are seeking a driven and strategic Sales Director to lead our commercial efforts across Europe, with a primary base in Madrid but will travel frequently to key markets, including Eastern and Central Europe. This role is responsible for driving growth across key European markets by cultivating relationships and securing contracts with developers, IPPs, EPCs, and financiers. The ideal candidate will bring deep market knowledge, strong customer engagement skills, and a proven track record in large-scale solar project sales.
You will report directly to the VP, Europe and work cross-functionally with product, operations, and global business development teams to grow our regional footprint and deliver industry-leading customer value.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute the sales strategy for Europe, aligning with Nextracker’s regional and global goals.
- Manage the full sales cycle—from early engagement and proposal development through to contract negotiation and closure.
- Build strong relationships with solar developers, EPCs, IPPs, and financial stakeholders across European markets.
- Identify new business opportunities, monitor market trends, and assess competitive positioning.
- Support pipeline forecasting and deal structuring to meet revenue targets and maintain healthy margins.
- Collaborate closely with product, engineering, and operations teams to customize technical solutions and ensure seamless project execution.
- Represent Nextracker at key industry events, conferences, and customer engagements across Europe.
- Maintain accurate records and forecasting in CRM systems such as Salesforce and Netsuite.
Qualifications:
- 6+ years of sales or business development experience, ideally in solar, renewable energy, or power infrastructure.
- Proven success in closing large-scale PV or infrastructure deals across Europe.
- Established network within the solar developer, EPC, and IPP communities.
- Strong commercial acumen, with experience in complex deal structuring and contract negotiation.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field; Master’s degree a plus.
- Fluent in English; additional European languages (Spanish, French, German, etc.) are a plus.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
- Willingness to travel frequently across the European region.
